so this week has been a week of service due to the rains...but to start off, last Monday we went to a place called Tùcume, like 1 1/2 hours away to go to a museum. we went all the way out there to find out it was closed
Tue. we did service. we helped the branch president load big logs into the back of his moto, then we dug holes in his backyard and put the logs into them. after i was talking to one of his daughters whose name is A. , and i splashed water on her...ha now she is mad at me...ha. Wed. i was sick, i think i will be sick my whole mission, but wed was horrible so we didn't do much. Thu. we did more service. well better said my comp did service cause i was still sick, so i just sat and talked to the branch presidents kids. Fri. we had zone conference. then i did a exchange for a day with Elder B from Utah....so good to speak English again! then we spent 20 trying to open a stupid door, and the key cut my finger.
Sat. i woke up to find a visitor in my clothes...a flippin scorpion! so i about died. then it hid in my clothes so we took ping pong paddles and took out my clothes one by one until we found it. then us being stupid teenage boys took a video of it striking at a broom stick...ha then i killed it. then we ended the exchange. and both my comp and i weren't feeling too good so we just rested. Sun i gave a class at church about Adam and Eve, then a member gave me a ceramic pot which was cool. then we taught j. who has a baptism date, and in the middle of the lesson, her drunk dad came in and ruined the lesson. We told him that the Lord doesn't dwell in unholy places. so after that he shut up. yesterday we helped put bricks onto a roof. so that's been my week. love you guys! i will buy a camera this week then send you guys the amount. Love you guys!

hope you get feeling better soon!
so bad news....well yes im okay...but yes there have been floods here. the bad news is that water entered in from our room and got a lot of my stuff wet, including my camara....so now my camara dosent work, i have no clue what to do! but ill get to that later. this week. monday night my comp woke me up saying that he heard footsteps and voices. so i gave him a blessing. tuesday we were walking and out of nowhere a little girl/zombie appeared out of nowhere. and started to follow us. finally we dicthed her. later that night we were talking about her and the lights went out...weird. wed. the rains started and it was crazy! we just got hit all at once. from 9pm till 5am we were sweeping outside trying to save our room. and thats where water came in and got my camra wet :(. during that night houses began to fall and people began to scream. that was probably one of the sadest moments in my mission. hearing those screams knowing that from that moment on, those people were homeless. :( thursday i had a mulit zone which went good. we were gonna eat pizza, but the rain caused that pizza huts roof collapsed. so we ate chicken. and the mission presidents wife is in the US cause she had to have surgery...scary. friday i got sick from sweeping outside for all that time. but president didnt think it was safe to work so we stayed in all day. saturday as well. sunday we went to church, and helped a lot of members with service. this week has been super hard for me physically and emotionally. but thats all i got for you guys. i love you guys

the town is okay sized, big enough for 2 missionaries! but wow, this week flew by! last pday was so boring! all we did was watch movies. then we had a family night with the branch presidents family. they are so amazing! although they are poor, they are rich in thier testimonies. thats just a second reminder on how the gospel can bless families! Tue. i did a exchange with a Elder from Bolivia. we found a guy who believed in God, but not Jesus.... Wed. we had a world wide training for missionaries, and they changed our schedule and our key indicators, so that was kinda crazy. Fri we did a "Mormon battle" where a bunch of the members came out with us to visit. after they invited us to pollo a la brasa. Sat. i was SO HOT! we visited a convert and his wife is not a member, and she hates us. and she said "why do you keep coming by, pretty soon you will take him to your land no?" freakin lady...also a guy came and looked at our shower, cause there was a missionary who got hurt by his shower (it you use it wrong, it shocks you) Sun. i gave the gospel principle class. they gave me no time to prepare so my class kinda blew :( later that day we put a baptism date with a mom and daughter! for the 25th of Feb.so that was great! then we spent a long time talking with the branch presidents family. so i think that's been my week. i love you guys!

im glad that my advice helped you! ya my new area is great! we actually live above the pension which is super nice! well my week has been a bit slow, i think the first week in a new area is always a bit slow. but last monday we spent all day saying goodbye. at night the daughter of my pension cried so hard!...kinda sad. i only knew her for 6 weeks. tuesday i got my new comp, elder e he is a pretty cool guy we get along well, i spent all morning un packing, that night was the worst night that i have ever had! first off, this place is infested with mosquito's. and the entire night they kept attacking me. and i literally did not get any sleep that night. the next day i was completely exhausted, and i still had to give my class...but it went okay. after we bought king kongs...so good! then we went to the room of the zone leaders and got me a mosquito net. then i bought some items that i needed. and in the moto taxi i lost my axe
.
in the afternoon, there was a dog that kept following us, i think we spent more time trying to run away from it, then actually work..ha. on thursday we visited a guy named m and in his prayer he said "glory to god" like 30 times and when he said "amen" he said "an applause for Christ" then he clapped...ha. that night we went to a appointment with the branch president, and he liked the way i teach, so he gave me a talk for sunday about the book of mormon. on Sat. we had our correlation meeting. and the church is on the 2nd floor of a old building..weird. then we talked to the branch presidents family, and they invited us to snow cones. that afternoon everyone rejected us
. there were also 2 girls who were hittin on me...weird... sunday, right before i gave my talk, they changed my subject...so not cool! and it was the first time here that i blessed the sacrament so that was cool. the branch is super small, it has like 25 members...wow. so i think that has been my whole week. i love you guys!!

i want to you read Alma 26:27 when Ammon talks to his brethren when they were getting down on themselves...sorry that happened, but just remember that god doesn't do anything save it be for the benefit of his children.
my foot is doing a lot better!
Well, its been kinda a fast week cause pday was on tuesday. on wed. i gave my class, then we started exchanges with the zone leaders. i was with elder R from Dominican republic. he is a cool guy, but he likes to control others. we found and had a great lesson with a family in the street. that night we watched a cool video about the spirit world with the penions family. the next day the elders from ferreñafe came over so they could do stuff while the zl was here. after my comp showed me the area in case he had changes. while we were walking on a dirt road we stopped and tried to hit a brick that was far off..ha on friday i did another exchange with Elder falconi from peru he is way cool, then we ate cachangas which is fried dough and a drink called shampoo to support my ward here. then we got off on girls for a long time. at night we played uno and talked until 12. o sat we went to a guy who was going to be baptized, and out of nowhere, the police came, took him, and put him into a car...weird. then we got the new about changes.... it turns out that....both my comp and i have changes. i am going to Morope in Lambayeque and my new com is Elder E. we are co comps. and this change he is finishing his mission. so that was a huge surprise! so that's
been my week. love you guys!!

well i am finally writing! what happened was that my zone wanted to go to a museum, but it wasn't open, so we got permission from president to go today. so almost the entire day we were in Lambayeque at a really famous museum here in chiclayo. it was pretty cool. it was all about the moche culture which was interesting to learn more about the peruvian culture. we went in and watched a short little video, then we got to go through 3 levels of pure artifacts and skeletons that they have found here in Peru. we couldn't take pictures :/ but i took pictures on the outside. its a pretty cool building! it was a cool experience, when we come back, I'm totally taking you guys there! so ya....this past week....last Monday there was an earthquake here in ferreñafe, it wasn't too big, but we totally felt it. i did a exchange with Elder C from Lima, he is a pretty cool guy, i sent a pic of us below. twe did weekly planning, then in the afternoon we went to the offices for interviews with president williams. on the way to the office, the taxi driver was talking on his phone and got pulled over by a cop...in my 18 months here in Peru, that was the first time that i have seen the police take action on something...the interviews were good, i LOVE my mission president, every time i have interviews with him i always leave feeling so good. when he asked me to say the closing prayer, when i said "amen" he had tears in his eyes and told me how much my Spanish has improved since i first got here, so that was a huge confidence builder! we had zone conference and it was okay, but to be honest i have had better ones. my foot was starting to bother me again, so we rested a little. we went to church which was good, it was testimony meeting which was fun to hear the testimonies of the members here. then yesterday i did another exchange with Elder D from bolivia. we found a poor dog in the street who was pretty much dead. his bones were showing and he had a HUGE hole in his ear, and there were maggots inside the hole eating his ear.so we bought him some bread. a member came out with us, and he is a physical therapist, so i spent the whole afternoon asking him questions, i think i focused on that more than missionary work...but ya that has been my week for you guys..I love you guys! talk to you guys next week!

well nothing has really happened this week. last Monday i did something that i have never done before...i cut my own hair! it didn't turn out too bad...tuesday some elders and i ordered chicken and talked. wed i did a work exchange with Elder C from Honduras, he is a cool guy, he knows a lot about the bible! we stayed up late talking and he forgot to set the alarm, so we ended up waking up at 8
. my foot is doing a bit better. i am not using crutches anymore, but on my work visit, i whacked my foot on a rock...so now its starting to hurt again. Ive noticed that the peruvians are super nice people, but when you start talking about God they get all angry and defensive, i don't under stand why. OH and while I was with elder c, we taught a guy that said..."I'm not atheist, but i don't believe in God" how does that flippin work??? so that was kinda funny. but now our area is struggling with investigators we have nothing! new years eve was a fun day. we went and contacted, after we went to a little store and we bought some stuff to make smores. we had to be in our room at 7 so we tried to cook smores, but it didn't turn out to well. but it was still good. we stayed up and they burned replicas which was kinda cool, but kinda scary. so that was fun to chill with my comp for that time....OH! i found out who the new mission pres. is....Pres. Balderrama from Bolivia, so that's cool. well sorry its been so short, but that's been my week. Love you guys!
